April meeting reminder and 2010 Spring Hunt details

Hi gang – Our next meeting will be Thursday night, April 15.
Our big event of the year, the Club Hunt, will be held next April 24 at Millington. Entrance fee for the hunt is $75.00, but participants must have valid membership. Therefore, if your membership has expired, bring an extra $25.00 and you can play.
Also, if anyone would like to purchase some of the ribs that we sold last fall the Smokin’ with an Attitude cooking team is having a sale to help them with the cost of MIM. They were delicious.
1 rack of ribs $20
2 lb containers of pulled meat $30

We still have a number of members who have not paid their dues. Please support our club by bringing your dues up to date.

March 2010 meeting reminder

HI gang – Our next meeting will be tomorrow night, March 18.
Welcome to our new member, Mr. Robert Mayer, of Germantown. We look forward to digging with you!
Carolyn reported that we have only 12 members who have paid their dues. Please support our club by bringing your dues up to date. Last month the club authorized Carolyn to buy enough silver to prepare for the next hunt, but that will leave the club’s funds at a dangerously low level.
Carolyn won “Split the Pot” and Jim Bryson won the door prize.

We had an entertaining meeting and received a pop quiz from our President.
Billy Bugg won “Split the Pot” and Evelyn Rushing won the door prize.
The main business item was a discussion about the possibility of changing the date of the Spring Hunt in order to accommodate several member’s schedules.
Please try to attend our next meeting, if you have not renewed your annual membership you may do so then for $25.00. The club still welcomes visitors, new members, and any ideas you may have to keep MMDC moving forward.

Our yearly Christmas party had a good turn out and lots of GOOD food. Mr. Sid Witherington took home the title of Metal Detector Of The Year ! Congratulations!
We also need to thank Sid for reserving the clubhouse again this year and Carolyn for ALL THE EFFORT AND TIME she not only put into making the Christmas party a success, but all the hours during the past year to keep this club running! Carolyn, thank you so much.

Hello All!
Our last meeting was pretty eventful! We discussed the fall hunt and it seemed as though everyone had a reallly fun time. The club has had quite a few new members join as well. And, if you did not know, the BBQ fundraiser was a great SUCCESS! We also had elections for the 2010 MMDC officers. They are as follows: President-Mr.. Sid Witherington, Vice President-Mr. Joey Rendon, Secretary-Mr.Lee Henwood, and Treasurer still remains open. If you would like to be our new treasurer or have an idea of who you think would do well in as that officer, please let us know ASAP(even if it is at our Christmas Party).
Our next meeting will be our annual MMDC CHRISTMAS PARTY! As usual it will be on Thursday, December 17th at 7:00p.m.. We DO NOT have our party at the library. Our party will take place at 7940 Farmingdale. It’s the Farmington Meadows Homeowners Association building. The lights will be on and you will see a couple of us already there. We will be swapping gifts again this year. A man brings a wrapped male gift that should cost no more than around $10.00. The women should bring a wrapped female gift costing no more than $10.00. Please mark clearly on your package MALE or FEMALE. Also this year, we will be playing BINGO for those who like to play the game. That also hinges on time as well.
