April 12th Meeting and April 21st Hunt Fee Reminder

Just a reminder that our April meeting is this Thursday 4/12 at 6p at the Bartlett library on Stage Rd. Those planning to hunt in our Spring Hunt on Saturday 4/21 please pay the club hunt fee. $75.00 for 3 hunts, or $30.00 per hunt if not hunting all three hunts. Hope to see everyone this Thursday.

April Meeting on the 12th – Member Hunt on 21st

Just a reminder that for the month of April, ONLY, our monthly club meeting will be held the 2nd Thursday, 4/12, rather then the usual 3rd Th. May, and the remainder of the year will be back to the usual 3rd Th. Meetings start at 6p and are held at the Bartlett library on Stage Road.
Also, our club spring hunt is scheduled for Sat. April 21and is held at Centennial park in Millington. The easiest way directions wise is to take the Millington exit (highway 51 north) off 240 north loop and follow 51 into Millington. In Millington take a right on Navy road. Continue east on Navy road and once you cross the railroad tracks continue about 3 blocks and the park is on the right. Turn into the park and continue on that street, past the YMCA and you will see the pavilion with parking. You then have arrived.
The hunt fee is $75.00 for the three hunts, or $30.00 for one hunt. The hunt is for MMDC members only, but if you are not a member and would like to hunt, you can join the club, $25.00 annual fee, and you can then hunt.
Please bring your hunt fee money to the next meeting. If you cannot make the meeting, but plan to hunt, you can register and pay your fee the morning of the hunt. Registration starts at 8a and the first hunt is scheduled to commence at 9:30. Two hunts are held in the morning and the 3rd after lunch. Bring a sack lunch and drinks, or fast food places are available along Navy Rd.
We will go over the hunt in more detail at our April 12th meeting.
These hunts are fun and there are some neat prizes besides what ever silver coins you dig.

February 16th Club Meeting

Just a reminder of the February 16th MMDC meeting this Thursday at the Bartlett library starting at 6PM.
Also, please mark your calendar that our spring hunt is scheduled for Saturday April 21st. I have reserved the fields and pavilion for said date.
January finds of the month winners were,
1st place Sid with a nice gold bracelet
2nd place Layn with a 1880 locomotive token
3rd place Sid with a Standing Liberty Quarter
There are still some good targets around, so don’t let the weather keep you in.

2011 Club Christmas Party

Greetings to all – We will have our annual Christmas Party at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 15 at the Farmington Meadows Homeowners Association Community Center. This is located at 7940 Farmingdale in Germantown. Please bring either a salad, vegetable/casserole, or dessert. The Club will provide the meat. As usual, we will have a gift exchange for those wishing to participate. Please limit the value of the gift to $10.00. Men will bring a gift appropriate for men, and the ladies will bring a gift appropriate for ladies. All gifts should be clearly marked “Male” or “Female”.
Additionally, we encourage you to bring a selection of your best finds from the past year for display.
Elections were held for new officers this month. The officers for 2012 are:
President – Lee Henwood
Vice President – Layn Huffman
Secretary – Jim Bryson.
Winners of the Find of the Month Contest for November were Sid Witherington (Relic), Gerald Laney (Coin), and Jim Bryson (Jewelry).
